Privacy Policy

Easy To Know ("Easy To Know", "we", "our", "the app") is an all-in-one Android toolkit that includes local file sharing, mission-based alarms, weather, a network speed test, a free VPN, IP lookup, clipboard history, notification history, device activity and app usage logs, device and app info tools, a file manager and browser, a storage analyzer, a media converter and a terminal. Signing in with Google is optional. This Privacy Policy explains what the app accesses, why, how it is stored, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Google Account info (optional): If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo URL. You can instead continue as a guest, and no tool requires an account.
• Local activity data (stored only on your device): clipboard history text (Clip Manager); notification app, title and text (Notification History); screen on/off, unlock and foreground app names with timestamps (Device Activity); per-app open and close sessions (App Usage); and a 24-hour log of tools opened, permission changes, sign-ins and alarms (App Activity Log).
• Device & app information: Device Info, Apps Manager, File Manager and Storage Analyzer read hardware specs, battery status, installed apps and permissions, and storage usage. This is shown locally and not uploaded.
• Approximate location / IP address: Weather (and the alarm weather reminder) use your location to fetch a forecast, and Speed Test, IP Info and the Free VPN inherently expose your IP address. See Sections 4 and 5.
• Alarms and settings: your alarms, mission settings, wallpaper and sound choices, speed-test history and preferences are stored locally.
• Photos for alarm missions: Photo and Item Hunt missions use the camera. Photos are not saved by the app. If the optional AI check for Item Hunt is enabled, the photo is sent once, for that check only, through our proxy server to an AI vision service (OpenRouter) to confirm the item.

We do not collect payment information, contacts, call logs or SMS. We do not read the contents of files you transfer, and we do not log or inspect traffic passing through the Free VPN. We do not read what is displayed inside other apps.

2. Permissions and Special Access

• Location — weather, the alarm weather reminder, and hotspot creation for file transfer on some Android versions. We do not store precise coordinates on any server.
• Camera — scanning QR codes and barcodes, and photo / item-hunt alarm missions.
• WiFi state / Nearby devices — creating and joining the temporary hotspot for file transfer.
• Photos, videos, audio and storage — File Manager storage breakdown, the Media Converter, and saving received files and converted images.
• All files access (optional) — the File Browser, to open folders outside the app's own storage. Turned on by you in Settings.
• Physical activity — step and squat alarm missions.
• Notifications, full-screen alerts and foreground service — the alarm-ringing screen and notification, and the VPN status.
• Exact alarms, wake lock, vibrate and boot completed — ringing alarms on time, waking the screen, vibrating, and re-scheduling alarms after a reboot.
• Query all packages — Apps Manager only, to list installed apps locally.
• VPN connection — requested only when you turn on the Free VPN.

You can review or revoke access to your Google account anytime from your Google Account — Third-party access settings.

3. Accessibility and Notification Access

Three features need special access that Android lets you enable only from Settings. Each is optional and you can turn it off at any time:

• Clip Manager accessibility service — used only to detect clipboard changes in the background, because Android 10+ blocks normal apps from reading the clipboard. It does not read screen content or act on other apps. Copied text is saved in the app's private storage. Because you may copy sensitive text, 4 to 8 digit codes (OTPs) are skipped by default, and you can clear history or shorten retention at any time.
• Device Activity accessibility service — used only to learn which app came to the foreground, plus screen on, off and unlock events. It is configured not to retrieve window content, and only the app's package name and label are recorded.
• Notification access — used by Notification History to save the app name, title and text of notifications so you can view them after dismissal. Ongoing notifications and this app's own are skipped.

This data is never uploaded, shared or used for advertising. Default retention: Clip Manager 30 days, Device Activity and Notification History 7 days, App Activity Log 24 hours; you can change or clear these in the app.

4. The Free VPN Feature

The Free VPN routes your device's internet traffic through Cloudflare's free WARP network using an on-device WireGuard tunnel. When you enable it:

• A WireGuard key pair is generated on your device and registered with Cloudflare to set up the tunnel. No account or payment details are needed.
• Your traffic passes through Cloudflare's servers while the VPN is on, so Cloudflare's privacy practices apply to it. We do not operate the VPN servers and do not see, log or store your VPN traffic.
• You can turn the VPN off at any time from within the app.

5. Weather, Speed Test & Network Tools

These tools send a request to a free public service. No account is needed, and we do not operate these services:

• Weather — your approximate location (device location, or IP-based location on the home screen if location permission is not granted) is sent to Open-Meteo for forecasts and air quality. The alarm weather reminder does the same.
• Speed Test — test data is exchanged with Cloudflare's public speed-test servers. Results are saved only on your device.
• IP Info and home screen — your public IP is looked up against ipinfo.io to show network details, and refreshed when your connection changes.

Requests go directly from your device to the service. We do not separately collect or store this data.

6. How We Use Your Information

• To let you sign in (if you choose to) and show your name and photo in the app
• To provide the results and logs shown by each tool
• To ring alarms, run missions and speak reminders you set
• To guide you through enabling the settings and permissions a tool needs

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

7. Where Your Data Is Stored

File transfers happen directly between two devices over local WiFi and are never uploaded to any server we operate.

Account information (if you sign in) is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud), restricted to your own account.

Everything else — alarms, clipboard, notification, activity and usage history, speed-test history and preferences — is stored locally on your device and removed if you uninstall the app or clear it in the app.

8. Sharing of Information

We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing. Information may be shared only:

• With Google, as needed for Google Sign-In / Firebase Authentication
• With Cloudflare, Open-Meteo and ipinfo.io as needed for the VPN, Speed Test, Weather and IP tools (Sections 4 and 5), and with OpenRouter for the optional Item Hunt AI check
• If required by law or valid legal process
• As part of a business transfer, with notice to you

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Account information is kept while your account is active. You can sign out from the Profile screen. Local data can be cleared inside each tool or by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of account data, email us below and we will process it within a reasonable time.

10. Your Rights & Choices

• Access and delete the account data we hold by contacting us
• Withdraw consent by signing out and revoking access in your Google Account
• Turn off accessibility, notification access, VPN, location, camera or any permission at any time in Android Settings
• Clear or shorten any local history from within the app

11. Security

• Network communication with Google, Cloudflare, Open-Meteo and ipinfo.io uses HTTPS/TLS
• We never see or store your Google password
• File transfers use a direct local WiFi link, never our servers
• Local history is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read on a normal, unrooted device

12. Children's Privacy

Easy To Know is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
